A great place for scary thunderstorms. Some of the reviews listed here are not for Gone Fishing but Rather Juniper East Capground. It is a bit of a walk to the lake if you are in shape. The area seems poor but its peaceful. There are no parties, campfires, or tents allowed. Some residents have been spoken to about gatherings at night. There's restrictions on dogs sizes and aggressiveness. Yet, there is a large pitbull in residence here. Many residents complain too easily. I have seen an armadillo at night the last few nights. I have enjoyed trying to take his picture.
Very friendly. Some permanent residents. All in all, a good place near the lake.
Some have complained about the slow wifi, but they have no choice on that currently. It should get better in about a month when the new cable company finished converting all the lines and boxes over. The park is not a fancy redort, but old school rustic camping with some amenities. There are some permanent residents, but we have found them to be pleasant enough. There are fancy ass resorts nearby if that's your thing and they will be happy to charge you 4x the money to sit on your lawn chair. This is more about getting on your boat and coming home to a bed than about impressing snotty yuppies.
Horrible experience. Rude rude rude man working the gate. Told him we needed a campsite for an RV. He gave us a site without sewer hookup. When we drove back up immediately to get our $66 cash back because it wasn't what we wanted. He said we were out of luck no cash on the property. We just gave him $66 cash!!! Completely unhelpful rude man from the start! Will never go back! People like this have ruined Lake Texoma!
